Living in Canada – especially in a quieter northern town – makes you miss things you didn’t know you’d miss so deeply. As a parent now, wanting to share the food I grew up with felt like searching for a secret.

It wasn’t just about finding Mo:Mo or Thakalai Set – it was about holding onto a part of Nepal that I could pass down to the next generation. It was about missing home, family, and those warm, familiar flavors that connect us. This site was born out of that feeling.

I started NepaliFoodNearMe.com because I wanted a simple way to discover Nepali restaurants near me. But more than that, I wanted to help others who also long for the taste of home – or are just curious about what Nepali food has to offer. We’re starting in Canada, then heading to the U.S., Australia, and beyond. The goal is to highlight every corner of the world where a Nepali kitchen is quietly serving soul food.

Because food connects us. And I want my daughter – and others like her – to feel just a little more at home, wherever they are.

And if you’re a restaurant owner, consider this an invitation. We’re here to shine a light on you. You
feed us – we’ll help the world find you.
